Caldwell is located in Essex County that's considered a suburb of both Newark and New York City. Its proximity to both areas, though, have not kept it from maintaining a self-contained economy and identity. New Jersey Monthly named it the 3rd best place in New Jersey to live in 2010.
With a rich history stretching back to the early 18th century, Caldwell has hosted many memorable moments and people; most notably being the birthplace of former President Grover Cleveland. Its also been the backdrop of many television and movie shoots in recent years.
The Caldwell area has many educational opportunities from pre-school to post-secondary, public to private. Most are within Caldwell (or nearby West Caldwell), so it is an easy commute for students of all ages.
